Happy to be a Mom!

I love this thought from President David O. McKay

"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."

This Week . . Birthday

Thursday my friend jewell from church invited us to there house dinner. So nice they have a nice house or should I say complex where like 5 families live. They had us eat in there living room area, and fed us on her fancy china. It was wonderful

Some friends from church over for a swim and then they came up to hang out. Just a side note I have had two families into our apartment since being here and as soon as them walk in they start sweeping my floor cleaning my apartment and rearranging my furniture, is this a philipino thing?

HAPPY 26TH BIRTHDAY TO NAOMI
We went out to dinner to Jolibee's for my bday a local fast food restaurant that is close by, so that was nice and then had a few people from the ward come over for merienda's and drinks. One even brought me a wonderful chocolate mouse cake for my birthday

Pretty fancy for something compared to Mcdonalds, real silverware and plates, and they carry the tray to the table for you, talk about good customer service.

Spencer wanted a picture of his sippy cup, so here you go

Nana bought this brown haired blue eyed cabbage patch doll for marianne before she was born, good job matching they are twins in purple. including the chubby cheeks- Marianne is 16 weeks on Monday

Here is our cool washing machine that our friend bought just for the apartment for me. so nice, I hang the cloths on a rack on the porch to dry them.

Water, Water, Water- So one last complaint - We can't drink the water here we buy great big gallons of water to drink and brush our teeth with. Not so bad, and there is no hot water here at all- not for showers or dishes, so there you go. The water is about cool, not luke warm just cool. So we are learning how to take quick showers so that is good. And with it so hot it is not as bad as it sounds.

So I am starting to get comfortable with the market and phillipines in general and all the changes so that is good

What a fun adventure for your family. I am glad that you have gotten settled in. Kambry was so upset when I told her you moved. She sure loves your kids! Keep posting...we love to see all the fun things you are doing!

Happy Birthday! It looks like you had fun. It is really interesting to read about how your life is going in the Phillipines. It's too bad about not having warm showers, but I guess it would work well to cool you down, wouldn't it? Good for you for having such a good attitude.

Everett misses Spencer. Ashley went to her first week of nursery here in Muscatine and asked for him, too. We're sad we don't live next door anymore!
