Happy to be a Mom!

I love this thought from President David O. McKay

"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."

Going Private

Hey friends, after seeing some creepy comments on the blog, I think we need to go private also. So please put your email on our comments page and I will be sure to add you, or email me your email and I will add you. I will try to add as many of you as I have addresses for also. Thanks for your help in helping continue to share our family with you.

I will probably do this after the holidays!

Love,

Devin, Naomi, and Spencer

Spencer's Christmas Picts

We took Spencer to the mall and got some darling pictures of him. I have to brag just a bit, spencer is the smiliest boy out there and these pictures did not quite capture the best smile he has ever had, but they are pretty darn cute!

Christmas Outfit

My Aunt Cheryl gave us this adorable green stripe Christmas Outfit, I tried it on Spencer today, and just fell in love with it. It makes him look like a Christmas Elf.

I was trying to take pictures of Spencer and he was just so happy and excited he wouldn't stop moving. so here is an action shot.

Here is a close up, of our cute kid.

Up until Thanksgiving Spencer has had a big open mouthed smile, and since thanksgiving he has started having this really chessey grin. It is so cute he makes me laugh. He is such a happy smiling boy (when he has been fed and had a nap that is).

Lights at the Pond

So Salem is a small town South East of Spanish Fork that is built around a pond. It really is an adorable town. For Christmas they put up a big lights fest featuring the pond. They build lights shaped as Christmas Trees onto barges and float them all over the pond. With the reflection that the pond provides it is an amazing sight.

We went and saw the lights with Dave and Kallista last Friday and then went and had a yummy dessert at Cold Stone (The Stake Pres. gave Devin a gift card to Cold Stone for his birthday (which was in August- we just never got around to using it). So that was a fun one.

Tickling Spencer

I just thought this was too cute not to post, Spencer and I are laughing and tickling together.

Christmas Jamies

I just have to say how truly grateful I am for my wonderful husband Devin. He is amazing, he works so had at school and sets asides time so that he can come home and still be with us. I'm so grateful for his patience and love. I'm also grateful for my wonderful Son Spencer he has added such a new dimension of love for our family and it is so fun watching him grow and learn new things. I'm also grateful for both of our families, they are both so wonderful and generous with us. Our child is so luck y to have such wonderful set of grandparents, aunts adn uncles and cousins. We love you guys!

Nana gave the kids new Christmas Jamis so we had to take pictures of these so cute kids. So here they are, Eli, Macey and Spencer

building forts with cousins

Here's the boys, Devin, Eli and Spencer playing in their fort that they made out of the comfy blue couch.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving with Devin's Family in Sacramento. We ususally always drive the 10 hours out there but this time Devin's parents decided to fly us out, it was awesome!

We left on Monday and spent the whole week there and didn't come back until Saturday.

We had a blast hanging out with Devin's parents and his brothers and thier familyies. We had three grandchildren, 3, 1, 6 months. So fun!

Spencer helping

Spencer was helping me do laundry, he's so fun

Here he is wiht his daddy trying out Sweet Potatoes for the first time over Thanksgiving, which by the way he loved!!!

BYU vs U of U

For those of you who don't know Devin is a U of U fan because he grew up in SLC, he comes from generations of U of U fans.

I however am a BYU fan and come from generations of BYU fans, so the BYU vs SLC game is always a fun one for our family. We fave fun with the rivaly. As you can tell from the picts we watched the game with a couple other couples, we had 3 byu fans and 3 u of u.

U of U one, so from Devin "Go UTES!"

Date Night

Devin and I decided it was time to go on a date, we hadn't been on one without Spencer since the middle of August. So our friends Dave and Kallista volunteered to stay with Spencer. Thanks so much you guys we really appreciate it!

We decided to live it up we went up to Salt Lake and went out to dinner at the Macaroni Grill and then went to see "Into the Woods" at the Hale Theater. Grandpa Wagstaff had given us two tickets months ago adn we were going to go the week before spencer was due to be born but then as you know he was born early, so we had still had the tickets.

THe play was awesome it was a mixture of fairy tales.

We just had a wonderful time with the two of us and really enjoyed being together. Once agin thanks so much to Dave and Kallista who made the whole eveing possible!!!

Jumperoo

Spencer loves playing in his Jumperoo, which we borrowed from our wonderful neighbors. He loves being in it especially if I am right next to him and watch him. However if I go in the other room , the jumperoo isn't fun anymore. I guess my job is to stand next to him and say "Good Job after every jump."

BYU Football Game

My family (Naom's family) came down this weekend and we had a blast hangingout and eating lots of ice cream (we are an ice cream family, hands down our favorite dessert.) One of the highlights of the weekend was going to the BYU Football game against San Diego State. We won 41 to 12 yea, Go BYU!

Here's the whole group, so fun, we went to the pregame tailgate party adn got oru faces painted and everything.

Here is grandma and grandpa trying to see what spencer would look like if he was a girl, ha ha ha. Spencer you are so cute you might be a cute girl. :)

Here is my little sister Katie and I? Do we look alike? hmmm

Here we are laughing in the kitchen with Spencer, he is wearing his new Football outfit already for the game. What a happy boy!

Katie is such a fun Aunt, here she is taking a bath with Spencer, they had such a good time. We love you katie!

Tummy Time Galore

Spencer is a pro at rolling from his back to his tummy, but he has not learned how to role from his tummy to his back. So he frequently gives himself lots of tummy time and then gets upset because he gets stuck on his tummy. I find it quite hilarious, he finds it rather frustrating.

Don't you love that drool in the first picture. The second picture is with his friend Isaac Johnston (Kendra and Jeremy are the parents) they are having tummy time at Mother's group.

Halloween

Halloween was super fun, we went bowling with our singles ward and handed out a ton of candy to the trick o treaters.

Here are 5 adorable little kids all dressed up for halloween from one of the mother's groups that I go to. Super cute!

We got super creative with Peter's Costume and created "Peter the Duct Tape Man"

Shopping with MOm and Katie

So My family came down a week ago and we went shopping, We had a great time hanging out together.

However, I found out that I am old, because i thought that everything that was "in style" now, was absolutely hideous. My 15 year old sister let me know that it had been 10 years since I was in her place in high school (only 6 years since I graduated). But I guess being a mom ages you emotionally, physically and stylishly. So be it, I'll be old, I deffintely wouldn't look as cute as she does in those clothes even if I thought they were cute, not my style.

Bath Time

Spencer loves Baths, we don't have an actual bath, we used the kitchen sink for the first 3 months but once he grew out of that we had to try to find something else. So we got a little creative. I have some tubberware craft drawers that i use in our guest room and the drawer was the perfect size for our little guy. So now Spencer has his own mini bath in the bath tub. It is a fun time for our family.Spencer has been teething a bit, so he has been chewing on his little fists like crazy, I thought this was a great shot of him.
