Happy to be a Mom!

I love this thought from President David O. McKay

"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."

Curly Naps

Marianne has turned into a curly sue. I tried to get a good picture of it, but I this was the best I could do. It is so cute and fun. Curly blonde hair blue eyes.

This is what happens at 5:30pm at night when we skip our nap, just before we sit down for dinner. I guess we are not ready to give up nap time yet.

Nana and Grandpa

Nana and Grandpa came to visit last weekend while Devin went to London for 5 days for a law school competion. We had a great time with them!

Marianne got to drive Grandpa's car.
We went out to breakfast with Grandpa for his birthday.

Chad and Amanda and Grandma Zoom came to.

We also got to go to Jump on It. Spencer loved it. Marianne tentitively climbed onto the trampoline and then fearfully laid her arms and legs and face onto the tramp, spread eagle. She stayed there until I came and rescued her. My kids are so different. I don't know if she will ever walk. She still has not taken her first step.

Kudos to Letter Factory

Spencer knows all of his letters. Not only can he sing the ABC, he can recognize everyone of them, and can say all of their sounds. I did nothing to teach him this all thanks to the Letter Factory!!! He is now obsessed with letters adn we write them over and over on our Magnadoodle. The dvd was only $8.00 so worth it.

Barrister's Ball or Provo Academy Sports Bar

The Barrister's Ball is held once a year, it is the awards banquet/ dance for the law school. We got all dressed up. It just so happened to coincide with the BYU Basketball game so, the committee agreed to play the game while we were eating dinner and then continue with the awards after. Devin was thrilled I wasn't quite as happy about the game interrupting my formal date, but it only lasted for the first hour and was fun too watch despite the defeat. Great Game, lousy overtime.

Gymnastics cont.

Gymnastics!

Devin took Gymnastics growing up and this sememster decided to sign up for two gymnastics PE classes at BYU, four days a week. We went today to see him on the different events.

Spencer had a great time jumping into the Foam pit!

Marianne wasn't so sure about the trampoline.

Green Smoothies

To go along with our Healthy Eating, I have been trying out the Green Smoothie idea. Where you make a regular smoothie of fruit and yogurt and then add Spinch, Kale or Chard or all three. You can't taste a thing! only the good stuff. Yum! Marianne loves them, and Spencer thinks green smoothies are awesome! So win win win. Thank you Blendtec, we love you!

GOAL!

For New Years Resolution Devin and I wanted to lose a few pounds and tone up. I have been exercising 5 days a week at 6am-7am (yea, its early). The only way I way I have been able to do it is because I have an aweome friend who picks me up every morning at 5:40. Thanks Tahlia! Devin took a gymnastics class at BYU 4 days a week.

Well after doing it for a month and not losing a pound we decided to join weight watchers. I have done it before an duse dto work for them and know how great the program is so we started it. It has been so much easier with Devin doing it with me. And between exercise and eating right. I have lost 11 pounds and Devin has lost 14 pounds! We feel great!

After a good morning workout
Fridays is Yoga Day
Don't you love this skirt it is one I made last week, I borrowed the pattern from my friend!

The Happenings lately

We have been doing a lot of random things lately . . .

Spencer got Valentine suckers for Valentine's day and of course he has to eat them all at once. What, do you only eat them one at a time? :)
Spencer and Marianne giggling on the couch at Grandmas
We went up to my parents house for Presidents day. Which was fun. While we were their Joseph and Katie put on some music and we are danced together which was really fun!
Cute!
Daddy and Daughter
I made a dress last week. Actually Katie started it a few years ago and I thought it was adorable so I took it home and finished it. I thought it was a little boring so I added the pink sash (which I think should have been thicker oh well) and the cute flower.

Tubes

My little Darline has had 5, oh wait, now 6 ear infection in the last 6 months. And the last two have had double doses of antibiotics trying to get them cleared up. So Wednesday she got tubes. When we went to the preop the doctor said she was a good candidate especially since she still had negative pressure in her ears after being on antibiotics for 10 days.

We went to the hospital at 6:30 am had her vitals taken, then talked to the nurse, antithesiologist, and doctor about the minor surgery. They came and got her at 7:30, they wrapped her up with a dryer warm blanket and took her back. That was the hardest part, handing her over to the nurse while she was clinging to me, I almost cried.

But after a no more than 10 min surgery and 5 min recovery to have the gas wear off I had my cute heart back in my arms, a little groggy and grumpy, but ears tubbed. Yea. Glad that done, no more ear infections!
