"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."
"I'm not a garbage can! I'm a boy"- Not sure where that one came from.
"Stupid!" "Sorry! I feel very very bad" . . . "FAT! Sorry I feel very bad" . . He thinks he can say naughty words if he says sorry afterwards- I should be mad but it makes me smile.
"Her is talking up a storm." Spencer to Marianne
"Did you topple Marianne" Yep she toppled
When I get bigger I want to drive a tractor and dump gravel!
"Actually, I"m a little bit hungry" Spencer says when it is bed time.
"Actually daddy, that's mommy's book and you shouldn't be reading it."
"The worst baby in the world is asleep in there" said Spencer pointing to Marianne's room.
"Her is looking at me with her Pacifier" Said by Spencer in the back seat.
"pbskids.word thats where I want to go!" Spencer comes up to me and says this everytime I open the computer. He really means pbskids.org
Here is the Birthday Girl Today 1 years old February 15th Arn't I cute I'm so mad! She loves these dollies- her babies She crawled across the room to get to it. Big hugs This was a dress my mom made for me when I was six months old at Christmas. It was a little tight on her, but I had to try it on! Also the fabric was made out of the same fabric as my mom's bridesmaids dresses from her wedding. Special! She loves this dog Salty. She lays on him, and he is such a good dog and pretty much ignores her.
Today My baby turned 1, I can hardly believe how this year has flown. Marianne is a darling. She was born near Valentine's day for a reason because she is truly a sweetheart. She has a content personality that has been with her from day one. She often finds toys and plays with them for a long time.
Lets see these days she is crawling, pulls herself up to standing and walks along furniture. Not walking yet but most likely seen
Says Mama, Dad-dee, Doghee, Baby (doll)
Her hair is turning curly which is adorable all in the back it turns into ringlets when it gets wet.
She loves to open and shut things: doors, books, toys,
She loves to play with Spencer until he gets to rough.
She is a mamam's girl through and through, she is most content when she is on my hip.
I love this Tutu
Here is eating the cake backwards style! Yes this is awesome!
Ohh big cake. Giant Banana bread cupcake with Pink Frosting! We had a breakfast brunch and invited friends over. My parents and sister Katie came down an Darlene and Asa came over with Emily and David. It was awesome.
just wanted to take a minute to tell Naomi Happy Valentines Day and tell her how amazing she is and how much I love her. If we were still in junior high, and Naomi listened to a radio station, I would call in and dedicate this song to her because it makes me think about her. But, since Naomi doesn't listen to the radio much, I thought I would post it on the blog so she could see it. (see below).
I thought that I loved her on our first Valentine's Day (watching "A Walk to Remember") together when we were dating, and I probably did. By the second Valentine's Day, (Romantic ski getaway to Solitude), I thought my love had deepened immensely. By the third Valentine's Day
(dinner at a romantic Victorian Restaurant), I was sure that I loved her more than the past two Valentine's Day. On our fourth Valentine's Day, (heart-attack at her office), I wanted her to know how much I missed her (and disliked spending endless hours at the law school library). On our fifth Valentine's Day (at Notre Dame, 9 months pregnant, and a new baby the next day), I was sure that she glowed more than ever and our new baby just increased my love for my wife.
However, each year, I'm always amazed how much more I love my wife every year, even though I can't imagine that it is possible. I appreciate her incredible patience with our children (and me). I love her desire to nurture, teach, and encourage them. I love her ability to design, create, and craft ideas into existence (sewing, blogging, crafting, etc.) I am amazed at her endless energy and enthusiasm for people. I love her desire to always be found doing something, to never waste a second of any day. I'm grateful that she is so giving and compassionate--willing to serve others by baking, sewing, shopping, talking, babysitting, listening, etc. I love her willingness to try new things and experience anything life has to offer (Cambridge, Philippines, Singapore, Notre Dame, etc.) I couldn't and wouldn't go without her. Most of all, I'm grateful that out of all the boys she could have chosen to devote all of her time, love, and devotion to, she chose me. I'll never fully understand why, but I'll be eternally grateful that she did choose me. I just hope I can make her decision a good one.
Thanks for being amazing, Naomi. (And I'm not the only one who thinks so.) Happy Valentine's Day to the best Wife, Mother, Lover, Friend, Companion, Domestic Goddess, Woman, ever.
Here's the lyrics so you can sing along.
Oh her eyes, her eyes Make the stars look like they're not shining Her hair, her hair Falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful And I tell her every day
Yeah I know, I know When I compliment her She won't believe me And its so, its so Sad to think she don't see what I see
But every time she asks me do I look okay I say
When I see your face There's not a thing that I would change Cause you're amazing Just the way you are And when you smile, The whole world stops and stares for awhile Cause girl you're amazing Just the way you are
Her lips, her lips I could kiss them all day if she'd let me Her laugh, her laugh She hates but I think its so sexy
She's so beautiful And I tell her every day
Oh you know, you know, you know Id never ask you to change If perfect is what you're searching for Then just stay the same
So don't even bother asking If you look okay You know I say
When I see your face There's not a thing that I would change Cause you're amazing Just the way you are And when you smile, The whole world stops and stares for awhile Cause girl you're amazing Just the way you are
The way you are The way you are Girl you're amazing Just the way you are
When I see your face There's not a thing that I would change Cause you're amazing Just the way you are And when you smile, The whole world stops and stares for awhile Cause girl you're amazing Just the way you are

"Along time ago, when I was 8 my grandchildren died" not sure where this came from.
Marianne what did you learn in nursery? "Jesus died." that it. We have been talking all week about that then on Easter he lived again.
"Mom, Which Cloud does Jesus live in?" We then had a lengthy discussion about "where is heaven?"
Spencer why don't you think of it yourself, "I can't there are no puffing clouds coming out of my head"- Like in books :)
During the sacrament hymn on Sunday Marianne stated very loudly "I don't like this song, I don't like this song" 3 or 4 times.
Spencer what do you want to buy Marianne for Christmas? "A Pink Race Track!" :) that makes it more girly I guess
Spencer can you sit down, we can't stand in the Taxi. "But I'm looking for a Hippopatamus" Oh well did you find one :), "uh. . . . oh yea there it is, ok i'm good" then he plops down.
Mom, My tummy says "Spencer feed me, please please, I'm completely empty, feed me." Hey bud go get me a sword so I can sword fight with you,- Devin
I can't find one how about this plate (plastic toy), SPencer
Well only if you fight with a plate too.
No, here's a spoon, thats the kind of sword they use in Singapore -(small toy spoon?)
So . . Mom. . When am I going out for sports." I wasn't quite sure how to answer that question.
