Juliette Mei-Lynn Wagstaff was born 3 weeks early, 37 weeks, on October 15, 2012
At 9:57am, Monday morning. Interestingly enough all three of our kids have been born on Mondays. She was 5 lbs 12 oz, or 2.6 kg and 18 inches long.
I started having baby contractions Sunday night about midnight and thought to myself "no way" but as with the last two once my body starts going into labor it doesn't stop, I woke up Devin about an hour later saying we should probably pack our hospital bag just in case they didn't stop, about 2:30 I had a couple harder ones so we called a taxi and left grandma with the kids.
I only had one contraction on the way there and thought this is going to be lame if they send me home, but they didn't instead they put me straight into a bed and a gown, I was dilated to maybe a two so they decided to let me stay- especially when I said Marianne labor was only 5.5 hours start to finish.
So we hung out for a bit waiting, about 5 am the contractions were getting harder and more frequent
I requested the epidural wanting to have plenty of time to get it - since it did not work with Marianne and that was an experience I sure didnt want to repeat.
The anethesialogist was great- except they maid Devin leave my room to give it to me- which I was mad about- seriously he can be there for the delivery but not for the epidural go figure, anyway it worked and it was great timing just after about 7am my contractions started coming every few minutes- I couldn't feel them at all yea!
Doctor checked me at 8 and I was a 4 and said well this will probably be slow and he would be back about noon, before he left he broke my water. I thought well maybe. About 9:15 am I was feeling a lot of pressure and really uncomfortable, I called the nurse to see if she could raise the epidural up, she checked me - not only was I at a 10 but crowning as well, they raised the epidural which kicked in a bit more.
The Doctor came in and we had Juliette out in about 3 pushes.
She weighs 5 lbs 12 oz and is 18 inches long. She is a tiny little thing, we can't get over how little she looks compared to Marianne and Spencer. She is just cute as a button though
