Happy to be a Mom!

I love this thought from President David O. McKay

"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."

Job Offer! Singapore!

Last Wednesday (September 29) Devin recieved a job offer at a great Law Firm calledO'Melveny and Myers in Singapore as an Associate Business Attorney.

We are so excited. This is going to be an amazing opportunity/adventure for Devin and our family. Devin and I have prayed, fasted, and went to the Temple and we both feel that this is what the Lord wants us to do. We are a little nervous about it but are grateful for Personal Revelation.

Things we know:
*Moving in Fall of 2011 (probably September) - We have a moving allowance and will plan to ship some of our things
*Devin will be taking the California bar before we leave in July
*We will plan to come home each Christmas and Summer
* We will of course be taking Marianne and Spencer with us. They won't be able to stay with their grandparents while we are gone :)- but thanks for offering.
*The main language is English, but they also speak Mandarin, and Malaysian. Devin is currently taking Mandarin 101 in hopes to have a foundation in the language.
*Singapore is one of the Cleanest cities in the world and has very low crime rate.
*1st World Country with a rather high cost of living
*The Republic of Singapore, the second smallest country in Asia, consists of Singapore Island and several smaller adjacent islets. Situated in the Indian Ocean off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, Singapore has an area of 693 sq km (268 sq mi). Just for perspective Rhode Island is 1200 sq miles.
*YES We will love to have YOU come and visit and stay with us! So start planning your trip

Devin has worked very very hard to find a job and we feel very blessed by the Lord, and we are striving to do all that we can to show our gratitude and "live in thanksgiving daily". We will write more about this as we get more information.

Crazy! I can't believe it! You guys are out of control, and I totally love you for it. You're the most positive person I know, Na, so you'll be happy wherever you go. Singapore does sound pretty sweet, though. Perhaps we shall meet up in Asia someday... Congrats on a new thrilling (if also a bit intimidating) chapter in your family's life!
