Happy to be a Mom!

I love this thought from President David O. McKay

"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."

Marianne Naomi Wagstaff

It took us awhile to decide on a name for this little. Monday night Devin came to visit after putting Spencer to bed and we sat down and spent some time with our little one and decided to call her Marianne Naomi. So Notre Dame means "our lady" and the lady they are referencing is Mary Mother of Jesus. So we thought Marianne would be an appropriate connection to our year out here in Indiana.
Devin calls her our little lady.

Also my darling sister is named Katie-Anne, anne spelled with an E like in Anne of Green Gables, so she is also named after her aunt. And then Naomi, of course is after her mother, but Naomi was named after her special Grandmother Ruth Naomi. So this little angel has a lot of special meaning and connection to her name.
Me with my daugter
Just home, and spencer taking a peak. Spencer has been wonderful with her. He gives everything in his life about 5 seconds worth of attention and she is no different. She gets a hi and sometimes a pat and then he is off. He says her name so cute "Murryanne"
All in Pink!
Coming home outfit.
I love the bow
Spencer's first look and soft touch
Spencer having dinner iwth mommy at the hospital
First new born shots, I love these little swollen faces

Nana with Marianne, we are so glad we have family here to help us, my mom will be coming next week!

Announcing Baby Girl Wagstaff!!!

We should have known that this baby would follow in her brother's footsteps, and be born 12 days early, on a Monday Holiday. Naomi started feeling contractions at 1:00 am, so we got ready to go to the hospital and were on our way by 2:00 am. After driving to the wrong entrance, we finally found our way to the labor and delivery wing and Naomi had the baby 4.5 hours later. It was pretty quick from start to finish.

Our little doll is 7 lbs, 5 oz., 20 inches, and has some black hair. She came out face up, with a little bruise on the bridge of her nose. I'll post pictures soon.

The epidural only partially (read didn't really) work, so it was a bit (read excruciatingly) more painful than Spencer's birth.

Mom, Baby, and family are doing well. More to come...

Yea Devin

Devin left this last weekend for Colorado and went to a Venture Capital competition with Notre Dame. He went with a team of 5 classmates and they acted as a team of investors, judged three business plans and presented to a panel of judges there. And they won 2nd Place which included a $1000.00 check. Congratulations!

Taking a break from the 48 hour prep work and found a cool car Tesla Roadster. Spencer has a small version of this in his hotwheel collection, we call it "daddy's car"

Wendell Spencer Wagstaff

i

I was just thinking about my darling little boy. He is so cute, and the fact that he is now sleeping triples his cuteness (at least). So just a little about my little buddy that follows me around wherever I go.

He was named Wendell Spencer, he is the 5th Generation to use the first name of Wendell, which I think is way awesome.

Spencer never stops moving unless he is asleep, and he usually just goes and goes and goes until he is ready for "nap." Lately our routine is go and do a morning playgroup, have lunch, which he eats about 1/2 of, he announces "nap" while rubbing his cute eyes, I then pick him up and he slumps over my shoulder to be carried off to dreamland. It is so cute.

He is also a talker, he talks constantly, from the time he wakes up until he goes to sleep, and sometimes even in his sleep. He is starting to say 2-4 word sentences, but mostly just one word phrases he will repeat anything you ask him to.

Another thing that is fun about him is his associations. He associates everything with someone. IE: his black car with flames is Grandpa Smith's car (because my dad always wanted a car with fire on it. Everytime we see a green car he says "Katies Car" (because Katie owns a green car. If we say should we call Nana he says "ooeey gooeey" because nana says that, Grandma = Oopsidaisy, Grandpa= Yummo, Uncle Peter= Mission (because he is going on a mission this month). He is a very smart kid and just loves to have someting to say about everything.

He is lately becoming a two year old and his favorite phrase is "I do it!" My only problem with this is when he is trying to do something that is impossible, like putting his own shoes on, changing his own diaper, or opening the door.

Spencer is our giggly, laughing, jumping, wonderful little boy that we as his parents think is a genius, and the cutest boy in the whole world. We will frequently mention this to each other. Doesn't every parent think this about there kids? I hope so. Everything he does is art!

But on a serious note he is a loving, happy little boy that we are so blessed to have in our family. We hope baby number 2 gets some of her brother's temperment and personality! We are excited to have them meet and become a family of four!
