Happy to be a Mom!

I love this thought from President David O. McKay

"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."

THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA

As you may know, Devin went to China with Notre Dame's MBA program last week. Here are some pictures from the Great Wall of China. It was definitely the highlight of the trip. The Great Wall has many different sections that tourists are allowed to visit. This particular one is slightly less touristy than some of the others, but there were still plenty of vendors, a gondola, a chairlift, and an alpine slide to help you up and down the mountain.

Here's the gang resting after about an hour of uphill hiking on the wall.

The wall is about 30 feet high and would be hard to get over.

The wall extends over all the ridges you can see in this picture.

Posing for the camera.

Showing off...again.

Until Further Notice. . . It's A

GIRL! GIRL! GIRL! GIRL! GIRL! GIRL! GIRL! GIRL! GIRL!
So our little cute person had the cord between her legs throughout the ultra sound today, (the stinker), so the tech was not very confident, but there was no sign of boy, and maybe some girl signs. So until further notice, which we hope to have another ultra sound, its a Girl!

Of course Devin being the sensible one, told me not to get too excited. Is this too excited?

Welcome Baby! We are having trouble coming up with Girl names we both like. What are your favorites?

Amongst the combined list we have: Kathleen, Miriam, Marian (Martha I love her name), Camilie (millie), and Analise, Elise, Abigale.

I like old fashioned names. . . .Any Ideas for us?

Yea Notre Dame

Our Family during a football weekend.

We are starting Spencer Young. Everytime we say "football" or "Notre Dame" he smiles and has a big clap.

The trees are gorgeous!

The Chocolate Factory

This week our MBA playgroup went on a tour of the South Bend Chocolate Factory. So Fun!
They had this poster of "I Love Lucy" that I couldn't resist taking, one of my favorite episodes.

But the best part was they got yummy samples, including this huge chocolate ball which Jonah (our friend) decided to put the whole thing in his mouth. It was a pretty funny sight.

The kids had to wear these nice nets on their hair. Which Spencer kept taking off.

Interviews,

Devin worked so hard this last summer to line up some interviews, and the work has finally paid off, we have had four interviews show up in the last two weeks! So Devin packed up and flew to SLC for two interviews last Friday, and then we just droped him off at the airport tonight for two more interviews in Sacramento. Wish us luck! Hopefully one of these will pan out.

Spencer loves his daddy, and really wanted to go with him. He even tried out the carry on to see if he could fit. In the end we decided it was better for him to stay home and keep me company. Buy Daddy, we love you and are so proud of you! Good Luck.

Faces of Spencer

This kid is so animated, he has huge facial expressions. I love these ones he has been making lately. "I think I am Stuck"

"No I don't like that!"

"I need this read to me right now, or I am going to die!"

"You are kind of funny mom"

"I am really really sad, can't you tell"

Parties and Activities

Last week we went to a big Library Festival. Spencer loved all of the costumed animals.

I watch a little boy named Jonah a few days a week. And two weeks ago he had abirthday party. We had balloons, which Spencer wanted to eat, and a really cool Spider cake.

A Day That Will Live in Infamy

Well it has finally happened.
We knew the day would one day come.
We've been waiting for it, we just didn't think it would be today.

Today Spencer learned a new word:

no-no-no-no-no-no-no-no!

Family Picture

Wagstaff Family Photo

Here is the long awaited for Family Picture of the Wagstaff's. From Top to Bottom Grandpa, Nana, Amanda, Chad, Devin, Naomi, Jessica, Jerrin, Spencer, Macie, and Eli.

Well we couldn't get any of the kids to smile but all of us adults look good so what can you say.

Chicago

Last Weekend we left super early to make the trek to the Temple. It is about a 2 hour drive without traffic We got super lucky and didn't hit any! We left at 5;45 Chicago Time and made it for the 8:00 session.

After we went and saw one of Devin's Law School Friends, we hung out with them and went to lunch. Spencer got lucky when Tiffany's little boy got us an invite to an amazing birthday party he was going to. They went all out with a bounce house and a balloon man, not to mention amazing costco food.
