Happy to be a Mom!

I love this thought from President David O. McKay

"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."

Notre Dame Trip

Here's a recap of the boys trip to Chicago a few weeks ago. Devin got tickets to the Notre Dame v. Utah game and invited his Dad and brothers to go.

The pictures are in reverse order, so you are seeing the pictures from Sunday back through Friday. If you are OCD about chronological order, feel free to start at the bottom of the post and work your way back to the top.
Here's a great picture from Chicago's most iconic piece of art--the bean. Actually, the full title is the Cloud Gate, but most everyone calls it the Bean because of its shape. We are taking our own picture here with the beautiful Chicago skyline in the background.
We were so close, we could get pictures like this during the game. I've never been so close to the action. It was awesome.
Here we are at the Bears v. Vikings Game. We lucked into some sweet tickets and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
Here's the best shot of us at the game. We had a good time for the most part. I probably enjoyed the game the most though.
As you can see, the score was not too pretty for the Utes.
It rained through 3 quarters of the game. We were wet, but not too cold. Unfortunately (for my brothers and dad) Utah didn't show up to play, and gave a very poor showing for all the fans that traveled out to see the game.
The stadium was a sellout as usual (80,000+) You can see all the red Utah fans on the top right side of the stadium.

This is the door to the Basilica (Cathedral) on Notre Dame's Campus. While the football season has not been as good as many thought it would be, hope springs eternal for the Irish faithful.

Here we are in front of Notre Dame's Golden Dome. We had a great time on campus and at the game.
Here is a view of the "magnificent mile" from the top of the John Hancock Building. It is the 4th tallest building in Chicago at 1,100 ft. (The Willis Tower "aka Sears" is over 1,400 ft. and is the tallest.) It was a beautiful view.

We took a boat cruise of the city and saw some great views of the skyline. Our tour guide was quite amusing, and kept us entertained despite the chilly weather.
Here we are at Chicago's famous Giordano's pizzeria. The pizza did not disappoint. It was everything we hoped it would be. I highly recommend stopping here if you get a chance.
We went to the Museum of Contemporary Art to see this exhibit. My brother Jerrin teaches an art class and uses several of Luc Tuyman's pictures for one part of his class. It was a very interesting exhibit.
Here is my brother Chad at the edge of Lake Michigan with the skyline extending behind him. It really was a gorgeous day in Chicago.
Here we are at Wrigley Field, Home of the Chicago Cubs. (They were hosting a college football game the next week, so the pictures on the side of the stadium are of Northwestern, instead of the Cubs.)

GO UTES!

Congratulations to Utah! In our family we cheer for everyone BYU and Utah, Except during the big game then we take sides . Can you guess who cheers for who?
