Happy to be a Mom!

I love this thought from President David O. McKay

"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."

Fire Station Tour

Our MBA Playgroup went on a tour to the fire station today Spencer was sooooo excited he kept say we are going to the "Weeeooooo station"

. It was awesome. This first picture was supposed to be a group shot of the 13 kids that went, we were at the end of the tour and they were getting restless -which isn't bad considering the average age kid was 21 months. Anyway we got 8 in the shot 5 one a way and as you can see Spencer and the kid next to him arn't too happy due to the fact that they just bumped heads.

THis is the fire boat, probalby what the kids loved the most

Driving the fire truck

Of course Spencer was one of the braver 2 year olds and actually went' and tried on all of the fire fighting gear.
Spencer told the Fire Man that the hat was too big.

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home.

Helping

This morning I took Marianne outside, so I bundled her up in this darling pink snow suit, (Katie, she was soo cute).

So after talking to several people about adapting from one to do I decided to change from my elegant black diaper bag to a practical back pack so I don't have to hold two kids and a diaper bag. Sad day but probalby necessary

Here is Spencer "helping" by rocking the baby, He goes over to her and says "Rock the baby" and then preceeds to rock the bouncer as hard as he can. I thought she was going to fly out of the bouncer the first time he did this. Since then the bounce has been mostly on the table out of the way of the sibling, amazing these kids live through their older kids

1 Month Old Today

So even though we are in the "not so cute baby acne- I'm not old enough to smile yet" stage, I took a few 1 month old shots of Marianne today. I think she is quite a vision in purple. Our little girl has been quite an angel of a baby (except for last night).

Most nights I feed her at 9:30 1:00am and 5:00am. Not bad for a new born. And then every three hours or so i the day time. She still sleeps a ton during the day, but will wake up for a little while. Thanks to Baby wise she is going to sleep pretty much on her own once we wrap her up and lay her down awake- really this kid is an angel and we are so happy to have her.

Oh and you can't tell from the pictures but we think she is going to have her daddy's beautiful blue eyes. Her eyes to me look navy with a circle of light blue/white around the pupil. So we'll see. . . Spencers had blue grey eyes when he was born but they were a lot darker then hers and turned brown after a few months.

She has quite a bit of dark hair, although her eye brows and eye lashes are white, so most likely she will be like spencer and have much lighter hair in a couple of months
She has this awesome double chin, at her two week apointment she weighed 8lbs 3oz, (almost a pound above her birth weight and had gained 19oz in 10 days! Great job

Yesterday We took the whole family to church for the first time. She was a doll slept the whole time. Thanks michelle for the darling outfit!

I even got to go to church for the first time in a month, it was nice to be back. Here is my darling little girl.

Caught in the act

here is Devin and spencer making a mess- i mean making sugar cookies,- by the time they were done spencer was covered in flour and about 1/4 of the ough was on the floor, walls, and in tummies gar cookies. but They tasted great!
The real reason we shop at meijers. Sandy the Penny horse.
outing to shipshewana, we wanted to go for a drive and see the amish country once so we drove over rode the mary go round and came back.

Gym Bus

Spencer got to go on the Gym Bus this last week, (a bus hollowed out and made in to a gymnastics room.) It was a big hit.

Here is a first photo shoot of Marianne

First Bath

Here is Spencer trying on her new bows for us

Catching up on sleep

Well here is the first bath, she of course didn't care for it, all though once she was in the bath she seemed to like it well enough.

Grandpa's Visit

Nana came out to help us as soon as Marianne was born, and a few days later devin's dad came out for the weekend. Spencer loved all the attention from his grandparents. They had fun visiting Notre Dame, the Football Hall of Fame and spending time with their new granddaughter. Spencer loved the air mattress that got put up each night.
