Happy to be a Mom!

I love this thought from President David O. McKay

"She, who can paint a masterpiece or write a book that will influence millions -- deserves the admiration and the plaudits of man. But she who rears a family of beautiful sons and daughters, whose influence will be felt through generations to come, long after paintings have faded, and books have been destroyed she deserves the highest honor that man can give, and the choicest blessings of God. In her high duty and service to humanity, she is co-partner with the Creator himself."

Big Messy Art

Our Complex has this awesome parachute that the kids love we fluff it up and they crawl under it and over it. It is pretty fun.

Our apartment complex had the Big Messy Art Day. They give all the kids paper and and paint and let them go to town. Spencer of course decided that the paint looked like soup and tried to drink it when my back was turned. No worries, it was non-toxic.

Enshrinement Parade

Enshrinement? Kind of sounds like a religious festival huh? Well only kind of if you consider football to be a religion, which it pretty much is here out at Notre Dame. Anyway this was a big celebration to induct some famous football guys into the Football Hall of Fame Museum. Pretty fun. Here is Devin and Spencer and Troy Aikmen!

Lou Holt!

Giant balloons

As you can see we couldn't get spencer to look but he really enjoyed all of the festivities.

Soccer and Playground

Here is spencer's favorite spot on the playground this cool tunnel with holes in it. He loves peeking out especially when I peek through.

Devin is on an intermural soccer team, Spencer and I went to watch. Definitlely the biggest and youngest fan!

Old Pics

I was looking through some old pictures and found some of when we were dating. This top title is April of 05, we wern't even engaged yet, we went to Las Vegas and met up with Devin's family.

We found Grandpa's old U of U sweatshirts and tried them on. Devin and all his family are huge U of U fans and me and my family are diehard BYU fans. So getting me into this sweatshirt wasa big step in our relationship. But don't worry I steel bleed blue.

Here is another one from the vegas trip. fun

Walking!

What you have all been waiting for (I'm sure with baited breath), The one, the only Spencer Walking! He took his first step at 12.5 months and then has taken the last month to start walking. But now he is fairly consistent, so I guess we can show the video! Enjoy! Yea Spencer!

Stairs

Spencer loves to climb the stairs outside of our apartment and especially loves to see if he can stick his face through the bars, which he can't but he continues to try.

Playing in South Bend

There is a resturant out here called "Steak N Shake" that is a sit down fast food, and since Devin had Friday off at school we went to the Studebaker museum and then went and got some shakes (1/2 off between 2-4pm). They give the kids this darling fold up car and hat.

As a stay at home mom who loves to go out and do things I am quickly trying to discover all of the fun free things to do in South bend. This week my Friend Elise and I discovered the play center at the near by mall. It was a hit. We tried hard to get a shot of all three kids holding still but it was nearly impossible. All three kept trying to climb out.

Amish Country

We live right next to several Amish Communities. And this week Devin had a little extra time off so we drove over to see them. They had a huge Flea Market going on which was cool- I got some sun glasses for $3.00!
We went in there resturant and had their amazing "Amish Meal" which was really yummy!

They are also famous for their quilting and they had the most amazing fabric stores and quilt store, wow Mom, we will have to go visit! So pretty.
We also found this really cool Merry Go Round in the store. Spencer was so excited we had to let him go on. Devin might have enjoyed the ride slightly more than Spencer :)

Chicago

Last weekend we went to the Chicago Temple with our friends and switched off watching our kids and doing a session.

Afterwards we thought we would take advantage of being in Chicago and went to the Chicago Food Fest "Taste of Chicago" they had tons of street vendors selling all kinds of food. My personal favorite was my Rainbow Ice Cream Cone that had Pistachio, Cherry, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Orange Sherbet Ice cream scoops. yumm

We saw this huge amazing waterfall
Here we are with are friends looking at the Pier

The Bean! It is built so you can see the whole skyline of chicago. Pretty Cool
